We all know that due to the spread and threat of Global Pandemic COVID-19, the Central Board of Secondary Education postponed the remaining Board exams of Class 10th and 12th on March 19, 2020. On April 1, 2020 the Board informed that the postponed examinations of only major subjects would be conducted and the students would be given at least a period of 10 days before the commencement of the examinations. Finally on May 18, 2020 the Board released the rescheduled time table for the remaining examinations of Class 10th (North- East Delhi) and 12th (All India) according to which the remaining exams would start from 1st of July, 2020 and end on 15th of July, 2020.

Due to the prevailing conditions of the Corona Virus in the country, the CBSE is making best efforts to conduct the examinations in safe and secure environment. The Board is concerned about those students who have been shifted from the place of their schools to some other districts or states. The Board has taken two important decisions to accommodate this issue:

  1. The CBSE has decided to conduct the examinations in the respective schools of the students in which they are enrolled.
  2. The Board will allow those students who are moved from the place of their schools to other districts of the nation.

Important Decisions of the Board

Scheme for Conduct of Examinations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct the remaining examinations from 1st July to 15th July 2020 in the respective enrolled schools of the candidate students.

Nodal Examination Center

In each district where the CBSE is having affiliated schools, one school will be fixed as nodal examination centre where the students, who have moved from the place of their schools to another districts in the country, will give their examinations. Thus, the Nodal Examination Centre will eliminate the difficulties of such students and therefore, there will be no need for those candidates to move back to the districts of their schools.

The following categories of regular candidates will be allowed to change their Examination Centre:-

  • ‌It will be the duty of the schools to contact their students to know whether they have shifted to some other district and would like to avail the facility of changing the examination centre to their present district in the country, and thereafter, to provide the information to CBSE.
  • ‌Schools will use e- परीक्षा portal on the CBSE's official site for providing the required information.
  • ‌Request through any other mode will not be accepted by the Board.
  • ‌School will process the genuine requests made by their students and will recommend to the CBSE for change of district for appearing in the exams as per rule.
  • ‌ School will make sure that all the requests received from their students regarding change in district for appearing in the exams are correctly uploaded on e-परीक्षा portal.
  • ‌All requests will have to be uploaded on e-परीक्षा portal only in one lot by the school.
  • ‌Link will not be opened again after the submissions of requests.
  • ‌It will also be the duty of the candidates to inform their own school about their shift from the district of their school to some other district in India and want to appear in the examination from the district where they are staying during the examination period.
  • ‌There are no CBSE affiliated schools in the following districts of the following states and thus, there will be no examination centre in these districts.
  • ‌Students who are at present in those districts in which there is no CBSE affiliated school and want to change the examination centre, will have to identify neighbouring district which is suitable to them and inform the same to their own school.
  • ‌No Request for change of centre of examinations should be sent to the Board directly by the candidates.
  • ‌Students who may have requested CBSE to change their examination centre will have to make a fresh request to their own school.
  • The Board will communicate to the schools about its decision regarding change of district in the form of Permission Letter, for onward communication to the candidate concerned.
  • ‌Students can also check the location of the examination centre using a Mobile app mentioned later in the blog.
